1. How do I connect?

Laptops that do not have built-in wireless will need a PC-MCIA card or USB device as pictured below:




2. There are many types of cards and USB devices.  What kind of card should I buy?

The only requirement is that it must be compatible with standard 802.11b wireless specification.


3. I have those components and I can't connect.  What now?

  1. Some wireless devices (especially those built in to laptops) have an on/off switch.  Look for one or check your laptop's manual.
  2. Make sure your software and drivers are installed using the CD that came with the device.
  3. Contact the manufacturer of the wireless device if you need further assitance.

3. Can I connect to the Texas State network?

No.  Mochas and Javas is out of range of Texas State's wireless network.


4. Will Texas State's Cisco Clean Access Agent program work to secure my connection?


No.  We recommend closing the program while at Mochas and Javas.
